Describe yourself (personality/attitude/passions/beliefs):
Denver-based (since August, 2018). Seeking alignment at a soul-level, possibly from someone who lives elsewhere but could relocate to Colorado.
You and I both are fully vaccinated, intellectual, empathic, social justice advocates (which includes being a feminist). I am a pluralist who celebrates diversity of thought, belief, and practice--and would hope that even with our differences, we can find common ground that will enable us both to grow and to strengthen our relationship.
I'm a vegan. Partnering with a fellow vegan is definitely my preference--I'm very passionate about my ethical motivations to this commitment--but I'm open to the possibility of cultivating romantic intimacy with someone whose diet might not be entirely plant-based (though in such situations--barring significant health-based restrictions--I would hope my partner would have an openness to moving more towards a plant-based life). As long as animal products aren't a significant part of your diet--and we click in numerous other respects--I'm hopeful we could find ways to flourish as a couple! Most important in navigating differences is mutual respect.
For me, "religious" and "spiritual" are mostly linked (though they're not the same): I embrace Judaism as a path towards wholeness and fulfillment, rooted in deep awe for existence, connection to past and future, and ethical commitments to love and justice. It's the vessel--rich in its cultural and historical particularism--that allows me to express my inherently universalist, humanist values and spirituality.
My approach to Judaism is traditionally observant, egalitarian, and theologically creative. I'm open to your having a different path. practice, or outlook towards spiritual growth and fulfillment . Let's learn from each other and enjoy discovering meaning and expansion of our spirits together.
I've been single since 2015 (divorced since 2017) and took 3 years of focus on inner discovery and healing before I started dating. My ex (and her husband) and I amicably and flexibly co-parent our 16-year-old son (our 20-year-old daughter attends college in the Boston area). I'm committed to remaining in Denver through spring of '26 (to see my son through high school). I'd be very happy to stay here--and would love for a partner to join me!--but would definitely consider relocating for a relationship when I'm able.
I grew up on Long Island; I've lived in many places, including all 4 major US time zones.
I love deep talks, long walks, baseball (the Yankees), the arts (especially theater; I used to be an actor), Seinfeld, Star Wars, super-hero movies, and classic rock. My favorite song of all time is "Solsbury Hill" by Peter Gabriel (hence the name of my profile!). Some of my favorite foods are peanut butter, hummus, anything with avocado, black dark-roast coffee, and dark chocolate.
(My profile used to say I couldn't enter a relationship with you if you have a cat because of my son's allergy--and mine to a lesser extent. I've removed this restriction: if we're an amazing match, we'll find a way to make it work!)
Fun facts: My mom grew up across the street from Judy Blume and appears as an incidental character in one her of her novels. ... I once had a joke get used on The Daily Show. ... I once appeared on a prime time game show and won a few dollars.
