Eastern Approaches

The psychospiritual practices are designed to use spiritual practices and
philosophies to assist our psychology, our mental health. To work a
spiritual program to help us think, feel and be better. And they work if
you work em, as they say. They do indeed. And they promote grace.

Eastern practices usually use one form of awareness or another. The basic emphasis is to cultivate the skill of observing our more egoic thoughts and feelings. A mainstay of this approach is mindfulness which is simply the observation of the contents of consciousness. The act of observing from our higher self can over time transform the egoic self by developing the skill of detachment. Also, this approach holds that the observation will imbue the ego with the peacefulness and acceptance and nonjugdementalness that is found in the spiritual observing self.
Good things for a conscious single.

Western/Psychological Articles

The world is made for people who are not cursed with self awareness.*

The psychological articles in this section are here because I believe that self understanding and self competence isn't necessarily rampant. Unfortunately it seems that we don't get much training in how to know and understand ourselves, how to be happy or do relationships well.
Or particularly, how to handle the challenge of being a conscious single.

There are articles, written by me that visit the reality of the difficulty of being single and being a conscious single. Then there are articles, again written by me, that focus on finding the right internal compass given the potential darkness and storminess of this single life. It is about finding the right zen. My intention and hope is for this place to help lighten and clear things up for you all.

There are also articles and such from a Western spiritual perspective that highlight the big benefits of turning it over to a higher power.

New Thought Approaches

New Thought practices focus not primarily on mindfulness, but on what your mind is on. These practices are based on the Universal Law of Attraction which stipulates that what you focus on expands or shows up. The Universal Law of Attraction states: We attract whatever we choose to give our attention to--whether wanted or unwanted. The writings of Abraham-Hicks are some of the clearest and best descriptions of the what and how of the law of attraction and some of her material and that of others will be in this section.
