Speak the Word
Our thoughts and
beliefs are the invisible templates that shape our lives. Our words
are the carriers of our thoughts and beliefs. Our words amplify and
focus the creative power of our thoughts and beliefs. We might even
say that the intentional and consistent use of the spoken word can
actually reshape the inner world of our thoughts and beliefs. Below
are some guidelines for effectively using the power of the spoken
word.
1.
Make up short and simple affirmative statements that are personally
significant to you. For example: I am happy, healthy and prosperous.
I choose peace.
Vibrant health is the truth of my
body.
I say yes to prosperity.
2.
Make a commitment to spend at least one minute every day making one or
more affirmative statements.
3.
Pick a time of the day that is convenient.
For example: First thing upon awakening.
Lasting before bed time.
While you’re driving.
4.
Pick an affirmation of the day, week or month, and work it for the
allotted time. The more consistently you use the affirmative
statements, the better the results.
5. As
an alternative to #4, use a particular affirmative statement for as
long as it feels right.
6.
Practice honesty with yourself and others. Making affirmative
statements becomes increasingly difficult as we accumulate unspoken
truths. The more we repress our genuine self-expression, the more we
are likely to become cynical. Likewise, when we allow ourselves to
honestly talk about things that trouble us, we are more inspired to
spend time making affirmative statements, like, “I say yes to my good,
yes I do!”
